British Council - Finance Internship Programme Phase 2

Through a hands-on learning programme, we offer youthe opportunity to get exciting insights into the financial function of aglobal organisation creating people impact across 110 countries.
The Financefunction offers a unique and independent outlook from which to drive decisionmaking and strategy across our operations.

You will work within the Financial Control function and your role with us will see yousupporting the end-to-end accounting process - including month and year endclose, ensuring consistent, accurate and robust financial accounting processesand being a solid part of our three lines of defence .
You will also have theopportunity to understand other areas of work within the finance function -Commercial Finance, Risk & Compliance and Financial planning &Analysis.
During your placement, you may be required to support finance changeprogramme, process improvement initiatives and engaging stakeholders acrossbusiness teams.
These will give you the big-picture understanding of our workand how it supports the delivery of our vision and strategies.

Stipend : Approximately £166.67 per month (£2,000 per annum) to cover stipend, meals and transport allowance (paid in local currency using prevailing British Council book keeping rate).

Throughout your programme, you will gain insightand hands-on experience on day-to-day accounting systems and procedures, getspecialist knowledge and experience of finance based on our business needs.
Your placement will give you the opportunity to learn and embed the coretechnical finance and systems knowledge you need to move forward.
You will beexposed to the commercial finance, risk & compliance and financial planning& analysis work within the finance team.
This opportunity will help youbuild on the technical skills gained and build your knowledge on our commercialbusiness, risk management and how we interpret numbers, trends, strategies intofinancial plans, forecasts and business decisions.
Your line manager will support and nurture yourdevelopment and ensure you are given the chance to learn and practice theskills you will require as a leader in future roles.
